Hikaru is one of the three ace Aestivalis pilots stationed on Nergal's cutting edge battleship, the Nadesico, after disaster struck her home colony of Satsuki Midori 2 at the hands of the Jovian Lizards. Despite her tragic past that left her orphaned, Hikaru has a surprisingly sunny outlook on life. Cheerful and energetic, she’s yet another “weird” face that makes the Nadesico crew what it is. Hikaru is an aspiring mangaka and her current hyperfixation is cult classic anime Gekiganger 3. Despite her bubbly self, she has a tendency to keep others at arm’s length beyond the surface level, and only her fellow pilots Ryoko and Izumi truly see her for who she is.
