Fold quartz is a crystalline communication medium used by the Vajra, as well as a handful of other sources. Despite its purple hue, it appears to be a slightly impure ruby under casual observation.
Dr. Mao Nome postulated that the adjustments necessary to turn a ruby into fold quartz must be performed in more than three spatial dimensions.
