Calas Zelinn is better known as Calas Madra, a mobile suit pilot who fought for the AEUG up through the Gryps Conflict. A reckless youth who grew into a level-headed pragmatist, Calas can apply her skills to a variety of situations. But Calas left the AEUG when the Federation got involved, retiring to the PLANTs where she lived as a teacher and a wife, and remained involved through her family with the Zodiac Alliance. When negotiations between the PLANTs and the Federation soured, Calas joined the battle again, this time against Earth in ZAFT. Now she accepts various postings on ships and colonies as needed, heading up the distributed Kite Squadron--a shield and sword both. She can seem cold, given what she's willing to do for the cause of spacenoid indepdenece. She will see ZAFT's cause realized even if she has to work with old allies and oppose old allies, and she will do it with her own hands.
