- Summary: The last attack of ChouRyuu has resulted in Zan enacting a plan months in the making.
1-21-97: (After Tsutsujidai battle.)
Zan's anti-virus firewalls finally stopped what was done to him. He was worried that his greatest form was too slow to face the Hyper Agent. He was meant to be a construction robot, but it was obvious that he was far, far in over his head. Various scenarios played in his head of how badly that could have ended. His complete destruction for example.
That the Giant of Dawn had done significant damage to him showed that just being a big guy and tough enough to take it all would not be enough. He needed something faster and able to stand against such threats.
Plans began to form and a list begins to develop in a separate, personal file inside Zan.
2-1-97
Atrytone's words and images both confused and infuriated him, but one curiosity remained.
Zan decided to act a bit now that he had network access again.
He opened a search in a dictionary and typed in one word: Paladin
Result: A very brave knight.
Knight? Him?
Images were researched, and even the Knightmare Frames were shown in some footage. He did not technically have a horse, unless the Iron Railer was considered. But the idea of knights defending castles, of tales that were as old as time were read while he worked.
A conclusion is reached thanks to the conversations. He was an Orbital Knight. That began to influence the internal plans.
4-22-97: (After Pink-catastrophe.)
The Brave Police were different. Even than the GGG. But their design. It was so versatile. Their extra machines could reach them and be used in cities where the Iron Zanrailer was a hinderance. It gave Zan some thought. He did not have to be big all the time. And he was only 20 meters. The Brave Police's core units looked to be the same. Could that be used?
Zan had more planning and thinking to do. And... he needed help. A message is sent to GGG's engineers and technical experts.
And to Senpuuji and LTI. Protocols needed to be followed.
Confusion at denial comes back.
Zan sighs at his "parents" before he looks up what other kids would do in such a situation.
9-10-23: (After Dance of Light and Dark.)
Zan breathed a sigh of relief as he was able to escape the horde. He felt useless. He had helped and they had retrieved Goldymarg as well as the TenRyujin team.
Now he was far too damaged to help.
Again.
Internally, Zan gave an almost human like huff of annoyance.
The Orbital Knight.
A lightbulb almost clicks for Zan. And the Carpenters on his network give ones as well.
9-15-97
Zan had received what he needed to begin with. And managed to get a small hanger on the Division Train where he could continue to work. The shuttle was civilian made, but Zan had Carpenters. The fastest, best repair and builder type robots ever made.
Both of his bodies were in a separate section. The Carpenters were given an access tunnel to work through on the flight. The room was mostly sealed as it worked and the occasional person came to check and offer advice.
It would take days to complete the Shuttle, but it would be worth it. And then he could see about upgrading the Iron Railer and himself.
11-5-97
Zan only has time to hit a remote seal and close before he draws the Zero Robos off after him thanks to hasty magnetic turret fire. It would keep the Shuttle project safe at least! Now he had to deal with the Zero Robos.
11-6-97
The Iron Zanrailer was carefully moved to a hanger in the Wadatsumi. It was the only way to bring him along as he fought against the Aura of Dawn's damage internally. The titan of a machine was nearly lifeless except for a faint glow of the optics. Smoke rose from everywhere it seemed possible. Every joint, crevice, even some places that probably should not have them.
Internally, the pilot's seat where at least a few had rode along in the Iron Zanrailer was a mess. The console had suffered damage, and the cracked screens showed occasional static despite being operational. The pilot's chair was knocked out of the floor and laying on it's side. The original Zan's internals were much the same. A readout showed error messages with an image of the Iron Zanrailer.
Zan gave a sigh as he checked for what seemed like the millionth time. That the Aura of Dawn injected into him was finally gone it seemed. But now. Well, he needed to do something drastic.
The plans were still intact. No one had come to check on him yet.
A Carpenter flies over to the doors, checking to make sure they were sealed before giving an affirmative.
He sent a secretive signal to a few aboard. What he had to do he needed permission.
>Damage catastrophic. Shuttle ready. Plan Knight Reborn. Access to GS-Ride needed.
He doesn't have to wait long.
>Access granted. Good luck, Zan.
Zan gave a sigh of relief before going over the schematics again. Showing the original body joining with a transformed shuttle craft for a body before the Iron Railer turned into a suit of armor over it.
Iron Zanrailer's head turns to the Carpenters slowly. "Program activate: Knight Reborn, authorization BT-10984."
Then he powers down. And the Carpenters get to work as they start to take apart and rebuild the Brave.

A green light fills the hanger.
The G-Stone network registers a new link.
