Expelled from Paradise is a 2014 film. Unusually for a Super Robot Wars series, it has no associated manga or anime properties, or indeed anything but the movie itself, which shows only a glimpse of its world.
Expelled from Paradise
Fewer than 2% of the human population lives on a barren Earth. The rest live on the space station DEVA, digitized into a virtual reality environment.
When a hacker from outside the system calling themselves 'Frontier Setter' infiltrated DEVA's systems to gain allies for its cause, several DEVA Central Security officers - including Angela Balzac - were sent to Earth with cloned organic bodies to find and deal with this issue...
Integration Notes
Overview
- This is a "support integration," designed to provide angles that will pay forward all the way through Phase 4 but in a way that requires starting it fairly late here; roughly 75% of the film has already taken place. Angela already has New Arhan, but was forced to retreat alongside Chirico Cuvie rather than having her cool fight from the end of the film to its conclusion. Despite the galaxy-crossing escape, Frontier Setter's mission is not considered complete.
- As in Super Robot Wars T, Angela was also tasked with tracking down and detaining Chirico Cuvie, who was rumored to be on the planet Terra, in the Astragius Galaxy. She does not know the true reason she was tasked with bringing him in alive, but was encouraged to coordinate with the Gilgamesh Confederation in this matter. (Now, of course, things have gone a little pear-shaped.)
- Frontier Setter predates the beginnings of the Third Galactic War (between the Balarant Union and the Gilgamesh Confederation).
- Frontier Setter's hat is very important.
World
- Much of the action of the film took place on Terra, a planet extremely suspiciously similar to our Earth but distinct therefrom. Significant swaths of Terra are ruined; a Dingo, Angela, or System Security member applicant will be made aware of some additional details about Terra. This Earth is recognizably similar to all parties involved, but less ruined than the Terra they know.
- As a rough outline, themes integrated on Terra in their recognizable states in ways that would have been visible to these characters include Regild Century Gundam, Overman King Gainer and MS Saga: A New Dawn.
- DEVA inhabitants such as Angela Balzac and System Security members have the Artificial Compoid species tag.
Organizations
- DEVA are the remnants of a society that went into a digitized state for reasons not known to most modern inhabitants of the Astragius Galaxy, let alone anyone local.
- System Security members in pursuit of Angela Balzac are part of the Gaia Sabers organization under the auspices of its clandestine partnership with the Secret Society of the Gilgamesh Confederation. System Security members are afforded Autonomous Action Licenses similar to those afforded to Graham Aker/Mr. Bushido of Anno Domini Gundam.
- Angela Balzac and Dingo are associated with Daba Myroad's rebellion, having bumbled into each other while mutually fleeing enemy fire.
