A rare super unicum, known as The Witch. Shiiko Sugai was an Earth Federations ace with well over 100 confirmed kills during the One Year War. She is a well known Earth Federation patriot, having fought with the Titans, Londo Bell, and G-Hound. She developed and uses a unique battle technique known as the Stigma Attack. Currently, she is a Commander in the Gaia Sabers apart of the 25th Autonomous Corps, aiming to secure peace for the Earth Sphere. She commands the Girty-Lue Class ship the Formidable. Her opposition to Newtypes and any sort of enhanced humanoid is common knowledge for any around her vicinity. Right now, her family are settled in Orb, to be closer to her son's technical college.

As an officer, she is well liked by her staff as a kind, motherly type who cares for the well-being of those under her command. However, for those more familiar with the Gaia Saber's more discreet actions are aware that her Corps is responsible for heinous acts, such as terror bombing, assassinations, and precision strikes to take out enemy commanders. It should be worrying that Shiiko is beginning to take a more direct role in the Gaia Sabers operations. In contrast to her fearsome reputation, her call sign is MamaMajo.

Service History

• 0079 ~ Parents and home destroyed in Operation British, noted to be her reason for enlisting. Age 17 upon enlistment, turned 18 several days later.

• Core Fighter Pilot for the Earth Federation Navy. Begins to develop an early form of her Stigma Attack, using a grappling hook to tie up Zaku's for easy targeting of weak points.
• Worked mostly in the Pacific and Indian theaters. Later joined for African front post Operation Odessa.
• Skill in Core Fighter earned her a Guncannon later. Customized her Guncannon with lighter armour and a grappling hook hidden with the left arm. Establishes her Stigma Attack. Zaku's she defeats are noted to have strange marks all over their body.
• Later receives a GM, same customization. Kill count begins to skyrocket. Scouted as a possible Newtype with her MAV, Naomi Ikeda.
• Post Africa, her assigned unit is sent to space in late 0079 apart of Operation Cemballo.
• Took part in the Battles of Solomon, Grenada, and A Baou Qu. Naomi Ikeda, Shiiko's MAV dies during this stretch at the hands of Char Aznable, the Red Comet while she was busy with Challia Bull, the Newtype. The dreaded Witch couldn't save her own MAV. She begins to turn against Newtypes.
• 0080 ~ Honorably Discharged as a Lieutenant Junior Grade after the end of the war. Nickname: The Witch. One of the top three aces of the Earth Federation, with well over 100 confirmed kills. Popularized as a rare super-unicum and a hero. She does not feel like a hero.
• 0080 to 0082 ~ Feels out of place and poorly adjusts back to civilian life after the War. Moves to Side 6, as a place that wasn't hit hard from the war. Meets Shogo Sugai and becomes romantically entangled. In 0081, Shiiko discovers that she's pregnant, gives birth in 0082. Gets married in a small ceremony in early 0082, before the birth of her son, Shuuichi.
• 0083 ~ Operation Stardust occurs, yet another colony drop...
• 0084 ~ The Titan are established.
• 0085 to 0087 ~ Shiiko enlists in the Titans after her son is grown enough, becoming a relatively moderate, in the field officer. Believes that Humanity must be united under the Earth Federation for peace, wishes to crush Spacenoid Independence. Works closely with a comrade from the One Year War, Emily Ashcroft. Active duty as a Titan officer, promoted to Lieutenant over the course of the conflicts she takes part in. Struggles to balance military life and her family life with a husband and son. Remains an active pilot. As the Titans are dissolved post Gryps Conflict, Shiiko avoids court martial and rejoins the main Earth Federation Space Forces afterwards.
• 0088 to 0092 ~ Intra-Federation conflict occurs. Shiiko refuses to join any one bloc, instead joining Londo Bell, again preferring a united Earth Federation. Offered commission with G-Hound, but turns it down, uncomfortable with the seedier elements of the organization.
• 0093 ~ Axis Shock occurs. Shiiko joins the Londo Bell response force and attempts to horn in on the battle between Char Aznable and Amuro Ray. She fails and is beaten back. Flees and doesn't witness the Axis Miracle. This is her major radicalization moment, too many colony drops have been attempted. She leaves Londo Bell and takes up a position in G-Hound.
• 0098 ~ The Earth Federation dissolves, and in it's place the New United Nations of Earth is formed. Shiiko takes a commission in the formation of the Gaia Sabers as a Commander.
• 0099 ~ Commissioned the Girty-Lue class Stealth Ship the Formidable, formed under the 25th Autonomous Corps. Takes part in the assault against the PLANTS after the BREAK THE WORLD incident.
• 0100 ~ Family moves to NUNE Controlled Orb, as son enrolls in a technical university. Shiiko returns from space to aid in preventing NUNE from crumbling any further, and as the Sabers begin to act more directly to maintain order.

Relationships

Shogo Sugai	Shiiko's husband, from Side 6, Palda and a salary man with a good amount of skill and clout. They have a good relationship, albeit there's a fair bit of distance there.
Shuuichi Sugai	Her beloved son. Born sometime in 0082, he was the best mistake Shiiko has ever made and become her whole world and guiding motivation for nearly everything she does. Currently enrolled in a technical college in Orb to become a mobile suit engineer. Their relationship has often gone through strained periods, especially when Shiiko is busy with her work, however she does love Shuuichi more than anything. Everything she does is with him in mind, in hopes for a peaceful world he can live in.
Naomi Ikeda	Killed in late 0079 at the hands of the Red Comet. Shiiko's MAV, they were best friends and comrades, along with her first and strongest love, longest surviving wingman, throughout the One Year War. Naomi's death still haunts Shiiko in ways she doesn't comprehend yet. She had hoped Naomi was a Newtype, one of those chosen few. Her death caused Shiiko to spiral and radicalize hard.
Char Aznable	Shiiko sees Char as The Newtype, the chosen one. She attempted to kill Char during Axis Shock, but was defeated soundly.
Emily Ashcroft	An old friend. Met during the One Year War and were comrades during their time in the Titans. Two sides of the same coin, struggling with much of the same trauma with different conclusions. As of late, Shiiko has been becoming increasingly uncomfortable with her old friend's thoughts on Cyber-Newtypes.
Aurora Dusk	A Cyber-Newtype, one of Emily's. Shiiko feels awful for her. A child who's future was stolen from her, made simply into a solider. Shiiko sees a lot of herself in her, just as much as she sees her son in her. She wishes, quietly, to push Aurora out of a soldier's life for a better one. To give her the tools to survive outside of the military.
Flay Allster	A broken child, but a fine officer. However, there cannot be mercy for traitors. Bring her back for punishment.
Akane Shinjo	Pity. Shiiko really does hope that the poor girl can figure out her relationship with her mother. Maybe in another life, they could be closer. Not going to happen however, as long as they're on opposing sides.

Newtypes, and Other "Advanced" Humanoids

• Newtypes ~ The archenemy. During the One Year War, she was told that Newtypes are impressive, chosen ones that are a cut above the rest. She connected this with chosen ones who can obtain everything that have ever wanted, seeing the Red Comet as the pinnacle of this phenomenon. She had hoped that her MAV, Naomi Ikeda was one of these chosen ones. Since her death, Shiiko now sees them as absurd, chosen ones and perfect on a level that is simply impossible. She seeks to disprove the "myth" of the Newtype, as yet another way to venerate skilled aces and as Zeon race science that should have been discarded along with the end of the One Year War. She still denies the existence of Newtypes, chalking evidence to other forms of technology.
• Cyber-Newtypes (Or "Kyouka Ningen") ~ Includes the Boosted and any post-birth cybernetic enhanced humans. The great sin, in her eyes. In the weapons race to match Zeon race science, the Earth Federation and it's successor states have run directly into unethical torture and abuse of children to develop into super soldiers with a stunning lack of concrete results, consistency, and success. Sugai is constantly frustrated with the lack of care in these sorts of experiments. Would prefer for the Newtype Corps to be disbanded, and give the Cyber-Newtypes the tools to survive on their own. If this is infeasible, then it's another reason to condemn these projects.
• Coodinators ~ Grew up during the great Coordinator conflicts and the establishment of the PLANTS. Remembers it as a scary time with a lot of anti-Coordinator terrorism and hate crimes. Internalized a lot of anti-Coordinator rhetoric during this time, along with a lot of ignorance on the subject.
• Innovades/Innovators ~ Unaware of, but Sugai would see them as equally absurd on the level of Newtypes and Coordinators.
